* Skokie Voice presented four Community Forums in 2011 that drew hundreds of residents and promoted dialogue with Mayor George Van Dusen and other Village officials on a range of issues.
* SV undertook several action and informational initiatives in 2011 on issues including expedited repairs to Crawford Avenue, possible uses for the former Skokie Police Department building and Village of Skokie correspondence with ComEd on local power outages.
* SV initiated the June 2010 Town Hall meeting, which was attended by more than 500 residents and led the Police Department to improve safety conditions at four Skokie parks.
2. Skokie Voice is working for a safe Skokie
The SV Community Safety Committee is reaching out to the Skokie Police Department and other Village officials to enable communication about keeping our neighborhoods, parks and business districts safe.
3. Skokie Voice is working for a thriving Skokie
The SV Economic Development Committee is a conduit for dialogue and idea exchange between residents, the local business community and Village and township government officials on fiscal responsibility and new business development in Skokie.
4. Skokie Voice promotes residents’ interests
The SV Housing Committee has developed a working relationship with Village officials on issues that protect property values including property upkeep, occupancy standards and tenant regulations. The SV Schools Committee has reached out to the community’s many school districts on maintaining their standards for quality education.

The mission of Skokie Voice is to improve communication between residents and Village officials on a range of community issues. The greater our numbers, the stronger our voice will be. Get involved – join Skokie Voice and make your voice heard!

Dues and Eligibility:
Annual dues are $15 for individuals and $25 for businesses. Individuals may opt for a 3-year membership ($36) or lifetime membership ($100). Annual contributions for sponsors are $100 and for patrons $250 or more. Your dues help Skokie Voice offset costs for printing, filing fees, maintaining our website and posting occasional surveys on it.
To be eligible for membership, an individual must either:
* reside in Skokie and be at least 18 years old; or
* own property or a business in Skokie and be at least 18 years old
